Goodsam International is a non-profit organization constituted by a group of ordinary people who are captivated by the love of Jesus Christ.
We are passionate about the most profound expectation of our Lord, inspired by the story of the Good Samaritan: Love God and Love Your Neighbor. We're constantly seeking ways to express the love of Christ through what we do, whether it be through education, health, or sharing the good news.
Current Project:
Theni District, Tamil Nadu
Goodsam International’s current project is based in the Theni District in Tamil Nadu, India. Theni District is on the inner border of Tamil Nadu, neighboring the state of Kerala in South India. The district has a population of over one million with a majority of its economy stemming from agriculture.
Initiated in the year 2000, Goodsam started with a small clinic and a few community children’s clubs. Four years later, in 2004, the vision was expanded to establish a school. We are deeply humbled by how God has guided our steps and used this organization to reach people in ways beyond what we could’ve ever imagined.
What We Do
Healthcare
Healing the whole person. We believe that every person should have access to quality healthcare regardless of their economic or social status.
Goodsam Hospital, which started in 2000, strives to provide affordable healthcare to everyone in need who enters through its gates. Located in an area outside of Chinnamanur that was once very remote, the hospital has grown from providing basic outpatient care to being a multifaceted facility equipped with inpatient accommodation, lab services, and surgical care capabilities serving and tangibly sharing the love of Christ with 100+ patients a day.
Education
Excel in everything. Over 50% of India’s population is under the age of 25. We believe that change and growth in a nation starts with leaders who are not only knowledgeable, but also have strong values and character.
Goodsam School aims to mold students who are able to think critically and shine as examples in their communities. Located in the village of Sukkangalpatty, the school which started with 14 kindergarten students in 2004 has grown to serve 900+ students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Community Development
Building the whole person. We can make a profound impact on communities by bringing support to their homes, whether it be through homework clubs, community programs or spiritual nourishment.
Goodsam’s first initiative began in community outreach in the areas of village-to-village children’s clubs and church plants. Goodsam has a network of pastors in villages across the Theni district who have committed to living among and growing in relationship with the people of those communities. We currently have 8 pastors and their families hosting home church gatherings and Opendoor children’s clubs in 6 villages.
